Great lightweight screwdriver
Replace with quality NiCd cells and make sure you recharge them only when they are near empty so you dont get that memory effect. Li-ion is too high voltage for this particular tool, keep in mind when you convert to li-ion you need to get a proper charger for it.

I just took mine apart but started with the top part and when I finished putting it back, I have one little small round nail or what ever it is called. Could you help me by showing me how to undo the top part and redo it again? Please. I have the same identical one and I am going to try to order the original battery replacement, but if there is none out there, I will do it your way. You have great patience my friend for doing this. Hello all, i would like to advice everyone watching this video to don't use Li-ION battery on such apparatus, the charger is not appropriate at all, and no charching proctections at all, this may result to explode or ignite a fire, he is using the right ones Ni-MH , thanks for this video.
The transformer is something like 7v AC, which is why you are not getting a reading. Switch your multimeter to read AC current and it will work. You can plug the charger in either way as the diode on one of the wires gives you your half wave which ever way round it’s plugged.. must fix mine now!

Do you know the difference between a Type 2 and a Type 3 Black & Decker Lithium powered tool ?
that's a half wave charger, hence the single diode on the positive lead. Basically when it's plugged in it will always trickle charge the batteries with a half wave charge. Very dirty. This is why the batteries don't last long.
Now you keep it a showcase like me.
